TANZ UND KÖRPERARBEIT IM FILM – Masterclass with CARMEN STADLER

Anhand von Szenen aus dem Film SEKURITAS, zeigt Carmen wirkungsvolle, vielseitige Instrumente der Körper- und Tanzarbeit und leitet praktische Übungen an. „Ich geniesse Ihr zuzuschauen, wie sie sich bewegt, wie sie geht, nur schon wie sie eine Schublade öffnet … – das hat etwas Besonderes.“ Eine ausdrucksstarke, körperliche Ausstrahlung fasziniert. Sie zieht uns auf eine sinnliche Ebene und kann mit Feinzeichnungen und überraschenden Variationen das Publikum zum spannungsvollen Beobachten verführen. Eine schauspielerische Körperpräsenz zu erarbeiten ist kreativ, konkret, lebendig und wirkt intensivierend, wenn sie in Beziehung zur Kamera steht. Der Workshop richtet sich an Schauspielende und regie- und kameraführende Personen.
Carmen Stadler lebt und arbeitet in Zürich. Nach einer Ausbildung in der Fotografie, studierte sie im Studienbereich Film/Video an der zhdk. Während des Studiums besuchte sie Weiterbildungen im Bereich Regie, Dramaturgie und Schauspiel bei Stephan Teuwissen. Ihre Kurzfilme gewannen verschiedene Auszeichnungen und wurden an viele internationale Filmfestivals eingeladen. Sie ist freischaffende Drehbuchautorin, Regisseurin, Cutterin und Kamerafrau. SEKURITAS ist ihr Langspielfilm (Kinostart 25. Juni 2020 (Verleih Filmcoopi Zürich).

Using scenes from the film SEKURITAS, Carmen demonstrates effective, versatile tools of body and dance work and leads practical exercises. “I enjoy watching her move, how she walks, just the way she opens a drawer … – there is something special about that.” An expressive, physical charisma is fascinating. She draws us to a sensual level and can seduce the audience into suspenseful observation with fine drawings and surprising variations. Developing an acting body presence is creative, concrete, lively and has an intensifying effect when it is in relation to the camera. The workshop is aimed at actors and those directing and filming.
Carmen Stadler lives and works in Zurich. After training in photography, she studied film/video at the zhdk. During her studies she attended further training courses in directing, dramaturgy and acting with Stephan Teuwissen. Her short films won various awards and were invited to many international film festivals. She is a freelance screenwriter, director, editor and cinematographer. SEKURITAS is her feature film (theatrical release 25 June 2020 (distributed by Filmcoopi Zurich).
Turning conventional cinematic approaches in film upside down, director Carmen Stadler makes buildings rather than human beings dream of romance and liberty.

Für Film- und Tanzschaffende bietet DANCE ON SCREEN Masterclasses an, die von Persönlichkeiten aus der Film- und Tanzfilmszene geleitet werden und die ihre Herangehens- und Sichtweisen und Know-how mit den Teilnehmenden teilen. DANCE ON SCREEN versteht sich als Plattform und möchte mit dem Masterclass – Angebot zur Entwicklung und Festigung des Genres beitragen und Film- und Tanzschaffenden die Möglichkeiten bieten ihre Kompetenzen zuzuspitzen, ihr Netzwerk und ihr Arbeitsfeld auszuweiten und potenzielle Kollaborationen anzustossen.
Die Teilnahme an einer DOS-Masterclass beinhaltet jeweils auch den Besuch des laufenden DANCE ON SCREEN – Filmprogramms.

For dance and filmmakers, DANCE ON SCREEN offers master classes led by personalities from the film and dance scene who share their approaches, perspectives and know-how with the participants. DANCE ON SCREEN sees itself as a platform and wants to contribute to the development and consolidation of the genre and offer film and dance makers the opportunity to sharpen their skills, expand their network and their field of work and initiate potential collaborations.
Participation in a DOS – Masterclass includes the visit of the DANCE ON SCREEN film program.
